Did you invest in a nice, little home gym/studio?

Writer: Julie SawyerJulie Sawyer

Me too! And no regrets! As people are beginning to think about going back to the gym or yoga studio, I am reflecting on the benefits of a nice little space at home to work out, practice yoga, and meditate.

What I notice the most is how much TIME I save! I am no longer driving 20-30 minutes to the gym or studio, changing, showering and driving back. Because I have more time, I also have NO EXCUSE to work out or practice DAILY! This makes it so much easier for me to COMMIT to my practice, my health, and well-being. I guess this has been one of the "silver-linings", as they say, of this past year.

I have to also admit that I love having CLEAN, high-quality equipment set up and ready to go whenever I am ready to work out or practice. I leave it set up -- just right -- and I am IN CONTROL of my own studio environment. And, frankly, I also love the PRIVACY.

I guess my students feel the same way because they have asked me to keep these classes for the summer:

Summer Schedule via Zoom:

Tuesday:

7:30-8:30 am vinyasa & abs

5:30-6:30 pm flexibility & stress reduction

Thursday:

7:30-8:30 am vinyasa & abs

6:45-7:45 pm progressive vinyasa

Friday:

8:00-9:00 am mindful yoga

I am also looking to add one or two more classes during the week and wondering if these classes should be another Progressive Vinyasa class, Tone Sculpt Yoga™, TRX Yoga or Trapeze Yoga.

Which reminds me -- if you sign up for 4 private sessions of Trapeze Yoga, I will give you a thoroughly cleaned, barely used trapeze created by the Yoga Teachers College -- these are the best trapezes on the market. I have 3 left and would like to see someone be able to use them. I will even throw in the carabiners to make it easy for you to set it up. You would only need to pay for shipping.

One final benefit of having a nice little home gym/studio -- NO MONTHLY MEMBERSHIP FEES! You can actually save money over time!

So sign up for classes as needed and let me know when you want to practice! It's great to have a scheduled practice with others -- it helps with both motivation and commitment -- knowing that others are expecting you to show up!

And did you know couples are "two for one"? Only pay one class fee for both of you!

Hope to see you on the mat soon!

Wishing you all the best in health and wellness,

Julie Sawyer, Ed.D., RYT
